ABO (Burg. G.J. Smith). City Coins August 2008

The medal has been nickel (?) plated by the recipient, but it is unusual to find an ABO to the Wepener Commando. According to a letter from his C/O, Commandant Ackerman, Smith served from October 1899 and laid down arms at Kwaggafontein, District Bloemfontein.
