Served: General de Wet.

This was my great great grandfather. We still have a. 303 that he took from a British soldier he killed during the war.
Would be interesting to track down the family of the British soldier

Hendrik, your great-great grandfather is a bit of a mystery. He is mentioned in the medaljerol as Kommandant with General de Wet, but although he apparently was an officer, he doesn’t figure on the Dekoratie voor Trouwe Dienst rol. I couldn’t find any reference to him on the Boer War Museum website, nor in Die Helde Album, Onze Krijgs Officieren and Die Boere Offisiere. Do you have any further information about him or a photograph? Attached is a photograph of General de Wet and his staff. Does he feature in it?
