I recently acquired this medal and what interested me as much as the medal itself was the small collection of family photos that came with it.

To bring these photos to life my daughter ran them through an AI tool to generate a small video; hopefully the link works:

He looks very young . What exactly did he die from ?

Hi Koops,

Yes, he does look young. I'm assuming he died of Enteric Fever but I still have to confirm that.

It's always a challenge when the military files are missing but it does look like he was married at the time of his passing and joined the ASC in 1893 in London.

With a family name of Jones I'm going to have my work cut-out for me to piece the family photos together.

He is also commemorated on the Army Service Corps Boer War memorial in the Cathedral Church of St Michael and St George, Queens Avenue, Aldershot, Hampshire, England
