I was wondering if anyone had any figures for the number of DCMs awarded for the Boer War in these three categories:

1. VR issues (from the start of the war to the death of Queen Victoria)
2. VR issues under the reign of Edward VII
3. Ed VII issues to the end of the war

many thanks
David

Sorry I can't help with the overall numbers but, according to Forsyth's roll, there were 134 DCM's awarded to Colonial (South African) units for the period 1899 - 1902.

Rory,

Do you think the DCMs to colonials were a fair and equitable number?
