Hi All,

A recent addition to the collection.
1024 Pte W Clark, Cape Rly Sharpshooters.
The medal has had the suspender removed unfortunately and replaced by a ring. It is in quite good condition otherwise seeing that it may have been used as a watch fob.
Another example of a medal to a unit that not much is heard of, I am fortunate to have two other in my collection.

Cheers,

Jim

Jim,

That's certainly a nice unit to have and the QSA sounds like it had an interesting history.

Do you know which clasps your man earned?

Kind regards
David

Hi David,

I don't have any info on his clasp entitlement. He doesn't appear on Scott's Rly Gds roll.

Cheers,

Jim

He is very clearly shown on WO100/270 page 103, which is the Cape Railway Sharpshooters roll, for both his medal and Cape clasp, not sure why you are looking in the same volume, but, at a differant unit?

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the response. I checked the SRG Roll as I had read somewhere that men at times served in both units. In this case my man didn't.

Cheers,

Jim
