A long shot... but I'm on the look out for my Great Grandad's Boer War Medal.

His name is John Clancy, service number 7236. He was with the Elswick Battery and had QSA with CC, OFS, Tr & SA01 clasps (photo below).

I'm doubtful it will be located, so I would appreciate recommendations for somewhere I can buy a good replica.

That is a great picture of him and hope you may one day track down his medal. This site has recorded several such finds.

You can buy a replica medal but what some people choose to do is to buy an actual QSA to the same unit. This would be named to the Elswick Battery and might even have known John. If you look at this site, you can see how much that option might cost.

I think a replica would be the way to go, whilst still keeping an eye out for the original.

Any recommendations for the best replica supplier?
