Just been watching the South Africa vs Sri Lanka cricket test so forgive the analogy please...

I've just acquired this QSA to 59 Sgt. H.S. Senior of the King William's Town Town Guard. The name was enough to get me interested but it was the clasps the man awarded himself that tipped me over the edge!

Now we all know that, unless service in other units is proven, the Town Guards (with the obvious exceptions we know about) received no clasps for their service and certainly not Belmont and Modder River - clearly Mr Senior had a senior moment.

Regards

Rory

Or a collector. Looks like the Belmont column is ticked as common to say the medal is "done" and the adjacent column - that for Modder River is ticked when the medal was reissued. Not seen the Modder River column used for that purpose before.
