Good Morning Everyone.....

About a year or two ago there was an auction (I think through DNW) of a large number of medal disks made in some cases from metals other than what the original medals were made...... I remember seeing China 1st type made out of brass....... It seems that some of these were marked on the edge as Gifts from the Master of the Mint and they went to museums all over UK...... If I remember rightly the ones in the auction came from the RAUSI collection.....

All thanks for the comments, I have now put this against a QSA medal that I have had for more than 20 years. As you can see it is quite different.

I'm not sure why the image of the queen is so different if this is meant to deceive,could it be an early prototype?
