JKP Dooner was my wife's grandfather. He commanded a Naval Unit and was mentioned in despatches at the Relief of Ladysmith. I am trying to trace (and hopefully buy) his medals, which were sold at auction at DNW in 2003. Any information would be gratefully received.
The medal description is as follows:-

Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Tugela Heights, Relief of Ladysmith (Lieut., R.N. H.M.S. Terrible); Africa General Service 1902-56, 1 clasp, Jubaland (Lieut., R.N. H.M.S. Terpsichore) naming impressed but with official corrections; 1914-15 Star (Lt. Commr., R.N.); British War and Victory Medals (Commr., R.N.); Defence Medal; Special Constabulary Medal, G.VI.R., with bar ‘Long Service 1941’ (John K. Dooner) mounted ‘Court’ style as worn, very fine or better (7) £600-800

I certainly wish you good luck, I think it is very sad when medals manage to find their way out from a family, all too common these days, but, once they end up in the London salerooms, they often end up in another continent, the market is very much a global one.
