The full meat ration
of 1/2 lb for two days can
be supplied today
ALL HORSE MEAT
siege soup ticket
holders may take half
their ration in soup
NB No soup will be sold
at the distribution for cash

I remember reading one report where a group of people were given some meat to eat, enjoyed it and only afterwards told it was horse meat. The prospect is worse than the reality?
