Hi everybody

The following list was compiled by me some years ago. This was after I had decided to discontinue my quest to have a QSA to every unit that took part in the Boer War.

Locally Raised South African Units Qualifying for QSA and, in many cases, KSA medals

The following list has been compiled from PRO Medal Roll Indices, medals in my own collection spanning more than 35 years (some 85% of units verified thus), medals noted by other collectors as well as medals featuring in dealer’s lists and/or auction catalogues.
The medals were not always named to the unit indicated on the Medal Roll: e.g. QSA’s to Rimington’s Guides are named to Damant’s Horse (with 3 solitary exceptions!), QSA’s to Nigel Mine Guard are all named to Vallentin’s Heidelberg Vols, QSA’s to Julius Weil’s Transport are usually named to Imperial Transport and QSA’s to NGR Bridge Guards are named just NGR.
I would like to think that this list is at least 99% accurate!!
