Bechuanaland Mounted Police? Border Mounted Police? My guess more the latter as the BechMP appeared to morph into another title prior to the ABW.

Not sure if this is helpful, but the Bechuanaland Border Police (BBP) were disbanded in late 1895. Presumably they were replaced by something, but I have not come across it. If I do, I'll let you know.

I would think the BMP were the Basutoland Mounted Police (now Lesotho Mounted Police Service). The Bechuanaland Protectorate's police were still called the Bechuanaland Border Police in 1901, and dropped the word 'Border' in 1902, so their initials were BBP and later BP.
