A historic day commemorating 100 years since the Battle of Jutland. There were 250 ships involved and no doubt some men who had served afloat 16 years earlier.

Good Morning David......

I have seen a couple of naval medals that were re-issued after the war with fixed suspenders and WW1 style naming with notations that it was a replacement medal for one lost on H.M.S. Ship when sunk......

Unlike Army Regiments, who had barracks, Ship's Companies would have all their kit with them in the ship.....

Hi David,

Thank you for posting.
My Grandfather Samuel Hicks served on the HMS Benbow at Jutland.
I am lucky enough to have him original parchment service record and a great crew photo of him on board the Benbow.
