Elmarie,

Am I reading the entry correctly and that F.A. Poser was a WWI rather than an ABW Internee?

A Frederick Albert Poser, born in 1901, died in J'h'b on 23 Sep 1958.

Neville

And here, I believe, is the marriage register entry for the above's father, born in 1874, and also named Frederick Albert Poser.

He was married on 16 Oct 1900, so clearly wasn't a P.O.W. at that time.

Looking at his signature, it bears similarities with the writing on Everhard's card.

Thank you Elmarie and Neville. Although the Postcard had all the characteristics of an ABW item, it now appears it was sent by Poser during WW1 when Germans were interned in some countries. Teaches one to be careful with assumptions!
