David,

I have not yet found Geering on Ancestry, SAFF shows his unit as "Ammuntion Columns and Parks".

I do not rely on the Ancestry index at all, just been doing Mafeking units and there are a number of errors.

Faskally - which record were you looking at, this one?

SWB,

Yes, that's the man.

He is CMR, not CMSC. His name is, I believe, George Bleek.

The FmP should show attached CMR as it is on The Register. A question for the FmP IT bods.

Here is his entry from the Epsom College Register:

Shows him as Lt-Col Cape Medical Corps - was this after service with CMR then? It doesn't show service with CMR. The medal rolls only show him as CMR with no reference to CMSC and he doesn't seem to appear on CMSC rolls. Boot and Saddle shows him as CMR, no mention of CMSC.

"Bleek"/"Bleeck" - Epsom College Register shows the latter. Seems like the difference between "Mc"/"Mac" as a surname prefix.
