Henk,

Many thanks. The most astonishing thing is the exchange rate of R1.6 to the pound in 1977!

If memory serves me well, the E.R. King on the Spink invoice is this Sannah's Post hero:

Best wishes,

Justin

From the D.S.O. files, KIng's entry in the Winchester College Register 1836-1906 p. 427

Hi Justin

Thanks for the additional "Press cutting"
I have tried to tie King to Sannas Post but with no luck. Maybe there is something lurking in WO papers that may throw light on his DSO award and contain a S P mention.

In the LG I only found one mention for him.

Indeed. The date of the notification of his D.S.O. is 28 November 1900, so it's definitely for actions prior to that date. J

Henk,

As so often happens where you're concerned I was looking for something completely different and I came across a familiar name.

From the 'Grantham Journal' 7th January 1928.

All best wishes,

Justin
