Roy,

The QSA roll for the 1st Royal Irish Regiment (WO100/177p338) shows his entitlement to the QSA with the clasps Transvaal and South Africa 1902. There are no notes against his name.

As he served in the Great War, have you found his MIC and looked for service/pension records?

Best wishes
David

Hi David
Yes I've got his WW1 service records and that was were I found out he'd been in the RIR; discharged in 1905/6. From there I got his RIR service papers -which seem to indicate he was a bit of a tortured soul but I'll save that for other parts of the Forum! It would be good to try a build a picture of my relative who I never meet.
Thanks again for all your help.
Roy

Hi Mike
Regarding your reply below

QSAMIKE wrote: Sorry cannot help you with the Lynch medal.....

But.....

I have a replacement QSA issued in 1925 that is all correct except the naming on the medal is in WW1 style.....

Mike

I take it the replacement relates to Pte 5591 Lynch? Would you be prepared to sell this replacement medal? Or do you know if unnamed replacements are easy to come by?
Thanks
Roy

Thanks Mike I'll keep searching for his QSA plus his Indian Medal (with. bars Punjab Frontier 1897-98, Samana 1897) and WW1 Kings Medal and Victory medal.
