Your relative Alexander Garden also served in the Scottish Horse.
His medal roll for the Scott's Railway Guards confirms his 2 date clasps.
His Cape Colony and Transvaal may be attributed to the Scottish Horse?

QSA (3) Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Belfast (2094 Tpr: J. Goldie.) unit erased;
KSA (2) (403 Cpl. J. Goldie. Kimberley Horse)

J. Goldie attested into Scotts Railway Guards and served during the Boer War. He saw further service with the Canadian Scouts, Brabant’s Horse the Kimberley Horse, with whom he was advanced Corporal.

The SRG roll (WO100/270p78) records that he was sentenced to 28 day’s hard labour.
