Thank you, Henk. If Winston Churchill saw the Royal Marine Commandos as a descendant of the Boer Commandos during the guerrilla phase of the Boer War, perhaps the SAS were modeled on your favourite units?

PS My favourite unit of the Boer side is the Heidelberg Commando, because it is the one linked to my two best Boer research projects, and because it was so well documented by Ian Uys.

Hello Henk

As far as I can remember it was WITH THE FLAG TO PRETORIA or BLACK AND WHITE. I worked with so many publications in our library and scanning photos of the soldiers etc.
