Naming looks good.

The medal roll entry from FID roll which shows the service dates that Frank quoted clearly indicates the QSA with CC,OFS,T,SA01 issued from Canadian Scouts in March 1908, the SA02 clasp issued May 1908. Medal with claps and SA02 clasp issued to SA.

Given the "late" issue date it could be Sleigh was entered on a single sheet that is missing from the Canadian Scouts roll, or Ancestry have mis-indexed the name.

And the late issue could explain the different naming - Mike when were the medals you have issued?

Would be worth Anthony going through the Canadian Scouts rolls, could have been missed from "Knowing no Fear".

Hi Anthony.....

FOUND HIM.......

He originally enlisted in the Canadian Scouts under a false name.....

He enlisted as JAMES WALLACE, he just dropped his last name.....

His name was on the medal roll and when he rec'd his medal he must have had it returned and had a later issue with his correct name.....

Hello Guys

Thank you very much for the information. The information is actually required for a friend whom the medal belongs to. He will be selling it shortly. Not sure where he will be listing it, but I will post a link to it when I know.

Best Wishes
Anthony
