I was back in Exeter this morning and saw, by chance, this picture of the unveiling of the monument in 1905. The picture was behind glass, hence the poor quality.

Hello David,
Regardless of what I think about "Sir Reverse" I cannot help but admire this, it is really quite magnificent! :)
Glad to see it is still there in one piece too, its scrap value may be considerable in these hard times!
