These seem to have been carried out by the "KaffirKomando," who were Blacks led by Boer "Turners."
I personally suspect it was another Of Kitchener's terror tactics with unwritten instructions.

I have not heard that allegation before with regard to the Boer War. What is the evidence?

below is a letter, written by a victim. Unfortunately it is in old Afrikaans, I can make out the gist of the incident but I am organising a translation which I will post soonest.



In this instance it is 3 soldiers from Rimington's Guides. It is not isolated but few by British Soldiers as I said earlier
