Hi everybody

I attach a scan of Boer War medals to "Men of the Cloth" in my collection.

I find it interesting that 2 of them had their academic qualifications immortalised on their QSA's : Feilding (not Fielding)DD and Rice MA.

Rice was Chaplain to the Cape Hospital and Cape Dockyard (info ex biography in Glendining Sale Catalogue Nov 1994), but I have not yet been successful in tracing his QSA medal roll page.

A C H Rice's QSA is listed on the Admiralty roll for the Cape and Transport Staff.

I had the same problem a little while ago. I was at the National Archives looking for a naval recipient in the WO index Luckily for me there was a colleague there on the same day who was able to remind me there that the Navy produced their own rolls for the Boer War!
